November 2006 - Moving mountains for First Hydro

Upgrading the floor finish at the UK’s largest pumped storage power station built inside a mountain, was just another day at work for Respol.

Having completed numerous projects over the years for First Hydro at Dinorwig Power Station, Llanberis, it was understood that all staff working on the project would have to undergo a full days induction in Eakring before being allowed clearance to access the site.

Working at the sub 60 metre level, 3,000 sq.m of EP550 surface membrane primer was followed up with two coats of Reecote EC017. At the client’s instruction, the project was split into three phases over a twelve month period, each lasting ten days and was completed to their complete satisfaction in November 2006.
